BFRC in Parliament for Glass Collective

The sharing of knowledge and information for the greater good of the industry is always high on the agenda for the British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC), so the opportunity to attend and participate in the recent Glass Collective event, hosted by the GGF at the House of Commons recently, was very welcome.

BFRC’s Managing Director, Richard Sellman, explains: “The Glass Collective is made up of member organisations that include British Glass, Glass Futures, the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers in London, bringing together manufacturers, processors, installers, recyclers and innovators across all aspects of the glass and glazing industry.   It’s a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge and best practice, for the benefit of everyone involved which will filter out across the work we all do.  It’s a great industry to be a part of and one that is only set to strengthen as we collaborate, share, learn and develop.

“There were many thought-provoking speeches on the day which proved valuable.  I also took the opportunity whilst I was there to meet with MP for Bermondsey and Old Southwark Neil Coyle, during which we discussed the current challenges facing the fenestration industry and the plans in place at BFRC and GGF to help tackle them. Working in support of the industry with the BFRC Difference, the conversation also focused on raising standards and helping meet targets such as Net Zero and other new developments.

“Consulting and engaging with the entire supply chain, including Government, is really important to get our collective voice heard, and this is just one of the examples of how we continue to work on behalf of the door, window and glass sectors.”
